I have always thought of it as being a bit childish and saccharin, but I am sure Eric would take great umbrage at that suggestion, however These two ideas are the kernel of genera’s essence. My understanding of it is that the name is derived from baby talk for sweet, but that is totally unsubstantiated (until I saw teh above post). It is really a much wider thing than that, evolving into artistic explorations of the sounds and sentiments associated with, for lack of a better term and apologies to Paul McCartney, pretty little love songs.

Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now by The Smiths, I wanna hear that!

great twee pop list, although Crayon sould be on it. I absolutely love the Jazz Pavement stuff! (sorry Elizabeth). It is so funny/ camp, Is that their intention? it makes me want to hear Mike Flowers Pop Experience version of Oasis, "Wonderwall", also very funny /camp. Ladytron are awesome!!!

OMIGOD! That Siegfried van Wittgenstein was a crazy motherfucker! I wonder if he's still alive, rotting in that trailer park in Appalachia!

(You did know that the name was "Sergio Van Lukenstein", right?)
