Hi, sometime, I would like to find out more about the voice generator that boogiepop and WCSB uses to make its interesting promos and station IDs.
I think all these new bands coming out of Montreal is really interesting (e.g. Pony Up! Of Montreal, Le Breast Feeders). I'm wondering if this evident pop culture flowering there has something to do with the flowering of Quebec self-expression generally in the last 50 or so years. A parallel comparison might be with Ireland which has produced a surprising number of successful new pop bands who can work in English, doing something unique and interesting, given that not even 5 million people live on the whole island.
Boogiepop said last week that he plays "wus" music. _Beck "Bit Rate Variations in B-Flat (Girl remix)" Gameboy Variations (hell yes) EP_ definitely disproves this statement.
I'll give you voice synth info later.

Of Montreal is not from Montreal. They're from Athens, GA.

When you mention Montreal, don't forget the Arcade Fire and Godspeed You Black Emperor!. Those are a couple of the biggest to come out of there.
thanx for taking my advice and playing The Vaselines and Crayon!!!!!
